Deep See (layered organic silk)
Deep See is a layered cyanotype that invites you to lean in for a closer look! The first layer is watercolor paper in a cradled wood panel, the top layer is sheer organic silk. Natural elements (starfish, leaves and ferns) have been sun-printed on both layers. After sun exposure and processing, I hand-painted details into both layers to further enhance the sense of depth and dimensionality. It is finished in a natural wood float frame with a simple black inset - the framed dimensions are approx. 15.25" x 12.5" x .75" (depth).
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
As with most fine art, Cyanotype art should be displayed away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. The silk can be very gently dusted with a soft brush like a sable makeup brush, if needed.
